Unplug the refrigerator or switch off its dedicated breaker for about two minutes, then restore power. For display or connected-model issues, try the reset in the SmartHQ app first. If the refrigerator does not return to normal cooling after an hour, call support at 1-800-626-2005.
Check that the controls are on, the doors seal fully, and the condenser coils are clear of dust. Leave room around the vents and avoid packing food against the rear wall. If the refrigerator stays warm for more than four hours, move perishables to a cooler and schedule service.
Confirm the ice maker is switched on, the water supply valve is open, and the water filter is not overdue. A new installation can take up to 24 hours to produce the first full bin. If the arm or feeler is blocked, clear it and let the cycle restart.
Replace the filter first, then press and hold the Water Filter or Filter Reset button for about three seconds until the light changes. On models with a touchscreen, open Settings, choose Water Filter, and confirm the replacement.
Find the filter housing in the upper right interior or the base grille, depending on the model. Twist the old cartridge counterclockwise, remove it, and insert the matching replacement. Twist until it locks, then flush about one gallon of water through the dispenser before drinking.
Download the SmartHQ app, create or sign in to your account, and choose Add Appliance. Put the appliance in pairing mode, connect to a 2.4 GHz network, and follow the app prompts. If pairing stalls, move the phone closer and restart the appliance’s Wi-Fi setup.
GE Profile connected appliances use SmartHQ. The app handles remote controls, cycle status, filter reminders, and software updates on supported models.
Look for the rating plate. On refrigerators it is usually inside the fresh food compartment near the top. On ranges, check the storage drawer or the frame behind the door. On washers and dryers, check the door opening or the back panel.
Register in the SmartHQ app after pairing, or email [email protected] with your model number, serial number, purchase date, and receipt. Registration keeps warranty and service records in one place.
Most GE Profile appliances carry a limited one-year warranty covering parts and labor, with longer coverage on certain sealed-system components. Terms vary by model and purchase date. Keep your receipt and check the warranty sheet included with the appliance.

Remove and clean the filter, check the drain hose for a kink, and confirm the garbage disposal knockout plug was removed if the dishwasher is new. Run the disposal, then start a rinse cycle. Standing water that remains after that points to the drain pump or a blocked line.
Check that the door or lid is fully closed and the load is balanced. A washer that will not drain will not spin, so clean the filter and inspect the drain hose. If an error code appears, note it before resetting the machine.
Unplug the washer or switch off its breaker for about one minute, then restore power. For many models, pressing and holding Start/Pause for three seconds clears the current cycle. If the machine repeats the same fault, run SmartHQ diagnostics or contact support with the error code.
